When strong east to north-easterlies force the Baltic into Eckernförder Bay, a couple of nice steep waves break on a sandbank at Langholz. They are wind-driven though: it’s port tack out to the sandbank, but feels pretty onshore on the wave. In south to south-westerlies, it’s generally small and choppy. A green 30m from the water’s edge serves as a car-park, with toilets and a kiosk on hand.
